Some Party Tips...
• Tie balloons to your mailbox so that it is easy for your guests to find the party. Have the birthday child select the colors.
• Protect your pets! Put your pets in a safe area away from the party. Some children play rough, and animals may bite if threatened.
• Best party times are 1:00—3:00 or 2:00—4:00. This way you can avoid serving a meal. For little ones, try 10:00 –11:30 to work around nap time.
• Invitation equation: try not to over do it. For children under 8 years old, invite as many children s the birthday child’s age. As your child gets older the formula will need revision.
• Involve the entire family
in the party. Assign duties for each. Perhaps one parent could be in
charge of pictures. One could be in charge of games, etc.

Cost Saving Tips...
• A personal computer can be used to make fun and colorful invitations, banners, and decorations.
• Plan the party around non-meal times. The price of food will increase the cost of the party by two or three times. Kids really only want the cake and ice cream, anyway.
• Instead of party bags, check out a couple of craft books from the local library. For just a few dollars, you can get the supplies for a couple of different projects. Kids will love making the crafts and will have something to take home with them.
• Set up a backyard Olympics. Kids love to play games and you can find out their favorites by asking other parents or teachers. Hand out stickers to the winners (try to make sure that everyone wins at least one game).
